Extension of EU police mission under leadership of Italian General Vincenzo Coppola from 2006

Brussels, 28/11/2005 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 24 November, the EU Council of Ministers adopted a joint action providing for the continuation, from 1 January 2006 until end 2007, of the EU police mission (EUPM) in Bosnia and Herzgovina (BiH). The EUPM, which took over from the UN International Police Task Force (IPTF), is currently composed of around 400 (from a total of 30 countries) and its mandate ends at the end of 2005.
