13/09/2005 (Agence Europe) - The Jean Monnet Foundation for Europe (based in Lausanne, Switzerland), chaired by Professor Henri Rieben, has sent a message to Foundation members expressing delight at receiving a donation in late August of the full digital archives of the Paul-Henri Spaak Foundation from Francois Danis, Paul-Henri Spaak's grandson, acting on behalf of his mother, Antoinette Spaak. Professor Rieben said the donation was a marvellous addition to the archives base established in Lausanne a quarter of a century ago from Jean Monnet and Robert Schuman's archives. He said that to mark the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Treaties of Rome on 25 March 2007, the Jean Monnet Foundation for Europe would be dedicating an even to Paul-Henri Spaak on a par with that organised in 2000 to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the Robert Schuman Declaration of 9 May 1950, inspired by Jean Monnet.
