Parliament calls for coordinated action by EU and Member States in favour of sustainable tourism

Strasbourg, 13/09/2005 (Agence Europe) - Last week, the European Parliament adopted the-initiative report by Luis Queiró (EPP-ED, Portugal), on new challenges facing the European tourism industry, calling for improved coordination of Community action and suggesting initiatives to develop "sustainable tourism", by 471 votes in favour, 54 against and 58 abstentions.
