Discussions continue between Member States to find compromise based on Mandelson's proposals

Brussels, 02/09/2005 (Agence Europe) - On 2 September, the European Commission still awaited a compromise between the Member States on the proposals put forward by Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson for resolving the Chinese textile crisis (EUROPE 9015/9018). Mandelson's spokesperson said they continued to hope the Member States would reach an agreement to allow progress to be made on the basis of Mr Mandelson's proposals.
