19/08/2005 (Agence Europe) - The Association of European Public Broadcasters (EBU) has published a call for tender for buying European mobile phone broadcasting rights for the Twentieth Winter Olympics (Turin, Italy, 2006) and the Twenty-fourth Olympics (Beijing, 2008). Mobile operators will have the possibiltiy of buying a licence to broadcast live images or pictures on demand to their subscribers. The broadcasting rights will be available in countries covered by Eurovision (54 countries in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East) and bids should be submitted by the 9 September deadline to the following address tender@eurovision.net.
