20/07/2005 (Agence Europe) - On 18 July, the European Commission adopted a regulation prohibiting fishing for roundnose grenadier in the Bay of Biscay, west Portugal and the Azores by Spanish ships. The Commission took the decision because Spain has exhausted its 2005 roundnose grenadier quota of 5165 tonnes in this area (the overall EU roundnose grenadier quotas for the area is 7190 tonnes). The decision has been published in Official Journal L187 of 19 July 2005.
