Proceedings launched against five Member States over direct and indirect taxation

Brussels, 18/07/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to take Belgium to the European Court of Justice and to send Spain a 'Reasoned Opinion' over direct taxation. It is taking Italy to the European Court of Justice and has sent Reasoned Opinions to Germany, Greece and Italy over indirect taxation.
