05/07/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has taken the decision to grant 1.05 million EUR in emergency humanitarian aid to Togolese refugees in Benin. The funds, to be taken from the Echo budget (the Commission's humanitarian aid service), will go to pay for food aid and staples for the 20,000 people who had to flee Togo as a result of the violence accompanying the presidential elections of 24 April.
