05/07/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has taken the decision to pledge 6.6 million EUR in humanitarian aid in favour of the vulnerable populations of Mali (4.6 million EUR) and Niger (2 million), two countries of sub-Saharan Africa which suffered the ravages of the desert locust outbreak last year. The funds, to be taken from the Echo budget (the Commission's humanitarian aid service), will go mainly to pay for reinforced nutritional support for children and other malnourished...
