27/06/2005 (Agence Europe) - At the Congress of the PES in Vienna (see above), the Hungarian Prime Minister, Ferenc Gyurcsany, proposed that, if it proves impossible to reach agreement on the financial perspectives 2007-2013 by the end of the year, the EU should adopt an interim budget for three years, over the period 2007-2009. The EU, he feels, should also review its budgetary structure to bring it into line with developments and the need to improve its competitiveness.
