EUR 620,000 in aid to Eritrea

Brussels, 20/05/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has allocated humanitarian aid amounting to EUR 620,000 for emergency food security measures for the harvest year in Eritrea to help over 35,000 vulnerable family groups in the regions of Barka and Debub. The aid comes from ECHO, the Commission's humanitarian aid office, under the responsibility of Development Commissioner Louis Michel.
