08/03/2005 (Agence Europe) - The EPP-ED Group at the European Parliament hopes to organise a plenary debate on 10 or 11 May to recall the end of the Second World War sixty years ago, the group's president, Hans-Gert Pöttering, announced in Strasbourg on Tuesday. According to the elected CDU member, it is necessary to commemorate the end of the war as the outcome allowed Germany to be “liberated from the National Socialist regime”.
