Louise Fréchette visits Commission to prepare New York summit

Brussels, 24/02/2005 (Agence Europe) - 24/02/2005 (Agence Europe) - Louise Fréchette, United Nations Deputy Secretary-General, has had a series of meetings with European Commission in preparation for the 2005 United Nations Summit in September 2005 at the start of the UN General Assembly, and which will address reform of the United Nations and the implementation of the Millennium Declaration. After Ms Fréchette's meeting with Commissioner for Environment Stavros Dimas in Strasbourg on 23 February, she went to Brussels to meet President Barroso, Vice-President and Commissioner for Justice, Freedom and Security Franco Frattini, Commissioner for External Relations, Benita Ferrero-Waldner and Commissioner for Development and Humanitarian Aid Louis Michel.
