In Nice, Alliance announces its expansion into west of Afghanistan - Discussions on merger with enduring freedom

Nice, 10/02/2005 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday, the Alliance announced during the informal meeting of defence ministers in Nice that it will now proceed to further expansion to the West of Afghanistan with four Provincial Reconstruction Teams (PRTs) plus a support base. “We have the resources needed for ISAF expansion westward”, NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer said after the discussion.
