04/02/2005 (Agence Europe) - MEP Emma Bonino (ALDE, Italy) opened a conference in Djibouti on 2 February against female genital mutilation, organised by a radical association she set up, No Peace without Justice. A press release explains that eight countries to date have signed the Maputo Protocol on African women's rights, banning female genital mutilation. Since then, Djibouti has joined them.
