President Mahmoud Abbas invited to address plenary

Strasbourg, 13/01/2005 (Agence Europe) - According to a GUE/NGL press release, on Thursday the Conference of presidents of the political groups of the EP agreed to proposal of Francis Wurtz, president of the GUE/NGL group to invite "the new Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas (Abou Mazen) as soon as possible, for a solemn ceremony in Strasbourg".
