Last Friday José Liberato, the director of the European Parliament's information service, indicated that former president of the European Parliament Pat Cox had invited president Bush to address the plenary and president Borrell had renewed this invitation, congratulating George W. Bush during his re-election in November 2004. The invitation to the Us president therefore still stands, he indicated. He did not indicated whether at this stage MEPs intended to hear president Bush speak in Brussels on 22 February (in full session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg).
