10/01/2005 (Agence Europe) - The 8th European Conference of National Ethics Committees (COMETH) will take place on 25- 26 April 2005 in Dubrovnik, Croatia. The main theme: "Meeting the challenges of changing societies". Participants will discuss the ethical implications of an ageing population, the use of preimplantation genetic diagnosis for HLA compatibility, and an assessment of the impact of the Convention on Human Rights and Biomedicine.
