10/01/2005 (Agence Europe) - Drawing on the forecasts of its services last October, Commissioner Almunia continues to believe that the French deficit will be below the 3% ceiling in 2005. In an interview to the Figaro last Friday, he pointed out that they would, however, be "closely monitoring" the evolution of French statistics on the basis of the next forecasts, notably those in March. He warned that "We could quite easily take another decision at any moment ".
