29/12/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has granted clearance to the proposed acquisition of joint control of HT Troplast AG (Germany) by Advent International Corporation (Advent) of the US and Carlyle Europe Partners II, L.P. (Cayman Islands) which belongs to the Carlyle Group (Carlyle) of the US. Both Advent and Carlyle are private equity investors and not involved in the manufacturing sector in which Troplast is active. HT Troplast (Troplast) is a subsidiary of the German company Rüttgers AG, which is controlled by RAG Aktiengesellschaft. Troplast is active in developing, manufacturing and selling vinyl profiles for windows and doors, and other products. The Commission's investigation found that the proposed acquisition would not give rise to competition concerns on any upstream or downstream market.
