France, United Kingdom, Spain and Italy are to announce their intention to provide EU with battle groups from 2005

Brussels, 19/11/2004 (Agence Europe) - EU Defence Ministers will be meeting on Monday for their bi-annual gathering, within the framework of the External Relations and General Affairs Council. On this occasion, France, the United Kingdom, Spain and Italy are expected to state they are ready to form a battle group from 2005, for equipping the EU with rapid reaction units.
