Consensus on objectives under Culture 2007 and Media 2007 programmes- Member States with healthy audiovisual industries show solidarity towards weaker ones

Brussels, 17/11/2004 (Agence Europe) - As we indicated yesterday, the "Education, Youth, Culture" Council closed on Tuesday with the "Culture/Audiovisuals" plank (the "education" and "youth" points were on the agenda for Monday: see EUROPE of 16 November, p.12, and of 17 November, p.16), under the chairmanship of the Dutch Secretary of State for Education, Culture and Science, Medy Van Der Laan. No political decision was expected during this session.
