Commitment of Euromed countries to save textiles/clothing - Pascal Lamy may make proposals next week

Tunis, 29/09/2004 (Agence Europe) - Trade Ministers from the Euro-Mediterranean area (France, Italy, Turkey, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia) and the European Commissioner for Trade, Pascal Lamy, meeting in Tunis on 28 September to discuss the future of textiles and clothing, took a joint commitment to boost the capacities of the industries of Europe and the partner countries to resist the growing pressure from Asian producers, especially China.
