28/09/2004 (Agence Europe) - The French minister for European Affairs, Claudie Haigneré, will take part in a conference in Brussels on 21 October, organised by Philippe Herzog, president of Confrontations Europe and outgoing European Parliament rapporteur on services of general interest, on the subject “After the White Paper on SGIs: action priorities”. Two round tables have been planned on “The link between SGIs and the services directive”, and “Financial compensation and progress from a legislative point of view”. Among those taking part will be Carola Fischbach-Pyttel, Secretary General of the European Federation of Public Service Unions (EFPSU), Jozef Niemiec, the co federal secretary of the European Trade Unions Confederation (ETUC); Rainer Plassman, secretary general of the European Centre of Enterprises with Public Participation (CEEP), Laurent Ghekière of the Social Union for the Habitat, Eva Schulz of Eurocities, Hugues Vérité of Schneider Electric (a member of UNICE's SIEG group), Henri Thomé , director of European Affairs for Bouygues, Jérôme Vignon, deputy director for Employment and Social Affairs at the European Commission.
