Brussels, 27/09/2004 (Agence Europe) - As promised on 20 August when the Code of Conduct was accepted for European Commissioners (dating back to 1999 but updated in February 2004), the Commissioners-designate of the Barroso Commission gave Declarations of Interest setting out in detail their financial interests, property owned, their outside activities over the past ten years and also the professional activities of their spouses. These declarations, made before the Commissioners' hearings begin, may be consulted on-line at: http: //europa.eu.int/comm/commissioners/newcom_eu.htm. They are generally quite short (for President Barroso, for example, just two pages), except in the case of the Commissioner-designate for Competition, Neelie Kroes, who, on twelve pages accompanied by a letter, lists her activities over the past ten years: for example, on the management boards of several large groups (Digital Equipment, McDonalds Nethertlands BV, PriceWaterhouseCoopers BV, Thales Netherlands Group BV, KLM Assurances, Volvo Group AB, etc.) but also in cultural foundations (Rembrandt House Foundation) or charities (Friends of the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund).
