EU still to decide whether to appeal WTO's ruling on "sugar" regime

Brussels, 21/09/2004 (Agence Europe) - The EU will await the official publication of the report by the WTO, which recently ruled against European subsidies to sugar exports (see EUROPE of 9 September, p.11) before deciding whether it will appeal the decision, announced the spokesperson to Trade Commissioner Pascal Lamy on Tuesday. The final report of the WTO panel is expected to be made public on 15 October, which means that the EU will have until 24 October to bring an appeal, she said....
