Irish judge replaced by her compatriot Andreas O'Caoimh

Luxembourg, 21/09/2004 (Agence Europe) - The permanent representatives of the Member States will appoint Andreas O'Caoimh to the post of judge at the European Court of Justice on Wednesday, replacing Fidelma O'Kelly Macken, who has just tendered her resignation. The new judge was put forward by the Irish government.

Fidelma O'Kelly Macken will go down in history as the first woman to have taken up the post of judge at the Court.
