The new nouveau groupie INBEV (born after the merger between the Belgian INTERBREW company and AMBEV from Brazil) ha acquired the remaining assets of LION GROUP BREWERIES (total volume of 13 million hectolitres of beer products in 2003), the brewing assets of the Malay groupie LION HOLDINGS, for USD 131.5 million. It already controlled 50% of the capital of this groupie. INBEV now had 18 centres of production and 7 bottling centres in 6 Chinese provinces.
