21/09/2004 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday, a European Commission spokesperson confirmed that discussions are underway (firstly at COPS level and then at COREPER on Wednesday) to examine the possibility of relaxing the EU's embargo on sales of weapons to Libya. This has been called for by Italy, to be able to deliver military equipment to the Libyan authorities to be used in the fight against illegal immigration.
