03/09/2004 (Agence Europe) - The 28th General Assembly of the International Social Security Association (ISSA) will be held in Beijing on 12-18 September. It will look at 1) developments and trends in social security 2001-2004, with ISSA Secretary General Dalmer Hoskins giving an overview of noteworthy and significant changes in social security legislation throughout the world over the past three years; and 2) social protection of the rural population, since only one person in five has adequate social security protection, and fewer than half the total population have any social protection at all.
