The Swedish industrial tool group, ATLAS COPCO (turnover EUR 4.9 bn in 2003 with workforce of 26,000) has sold off its electric tool business TECHTRONIC INDUSTRIES (turnover USD 13.2 bn in 2003), based in Hong Kong for SEK 5.4 bn. The sale involves ATLAS COPCO ELECTRIC TOOLS in Germany and MILWAUKEE ELECTRIC TOOLS in the USA, which employs a workforce of 3100 and which had a cumulative turnover of SEK 5.3 bn.
