Brussels, 04/08/2004 (Agence Europe) - Industrial production prices remained stable in June 2004 in the euro zone and also in the EU25 as compared to the previous month, says Eurostat. In May 2004, prices had risen by 0.6% in the euro zone and 0.7% in the EU25 compared to April 2004. Compared to June 2003, they had risen by 2.4% in the euro zone and 2.7% in the EU25. The largest increases w3r3 seen in Cyprus (+1.8%), the Czech Republic (+1.0%) and Ireland (+0.7%). Prices remained stable in France and the Netherlands, while the largest decreases were seen in Finland (-0.6%), Lithuania (-0.5%) and Sweden (-0.2%). In June 2004 across industry with the exception of the energy sector, prices rose by 0.1% in the two zones. In the energy sector, they dropped by 0.5% in the euro zone and 0.6% in the EU25. In the two zones, non-durable consumer goods dropped by 0.1% in the euro zone but remained stable in the EU25. Between June 2003 and June 2004, the biggest rises were seen in Hungary (+9.0%), Cyprus (+8.0%) and the Czech Republic (+6.1%), and the smallest were seen in Germany (+1.5%) and the Netherlands (+1.6%). The only drop was seen in Finland (-0.4%).
