Brussels, 04/08/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Commission has approved the acquisition of the Swedish company Wilson Logistics Holding AB by TNT Forwarding Holding AB, a subsidiary of the Dutch mail and logistics provider TPG. The sale of Wilson to the company Nordic Capital was notified on 29 June and will cost TPG 257 million euros.
Wilson provides air and sea freight forwarding services and, to a lesser extent, contract logistics solutions in the Nordic countries. TPG is active in universal mail services in the Netherlands, as well as in business-to-business mail and general world-wide contract logistic services. In view of the presence on the logistics and freight forwarding market in Europe of other important suppliers, the operation does not raise any competition problems. After its examination, the Commission also established that the focus of Wilson (freight forwarding) and TPG (logistics) would not lead to an overlap on the two markets.
