30/07/2004 (Agence Europe) - The US Chamber of Commerce to the European Union, known as AmCham EU, has published one of its very useful guides on European affairs known for their user-friendliness: EU Policies: A Guide for Business 2004. This 251-page guide opens with an introduction by Mary Harney, Irish Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, who mainly notes that AmChamEU and their member companies "are committed to enhancing and improving UE/US relations. This is clearly evident from a recently published report in the US entitled 'Partners in Prosperity'". Despite the tension caused by the war in Iraq, "nearly 65% of all US foreign direct investment in 2003 went to European countries", the Irish Deputy Prime Minster recalls. The authors of the study examine all the aspects of the policies affecting transatlantic relations: corporate governance, financial services, the environment, agriculture, consumer policy, social affairs, transport and energy.
