18/06/2004 (Agence Europe) - In a press release published on Friday during IGC negotiations on the European Constitution, the CDU elected member Werner Langen criticised Irish proposals aimed at attenuating rigorous application of the Stability Pact. Markus Ferber, also of the CSU, reproaches Chancellor Schröder for having suggested reducing the number of German seats at the EP from 99 to 96 in order to obtain, in exchange, a weakening of the Stability Pact.
