28/05/2004 (Agence Europe) - Nicholas Green, lawyer for General Electric (GE), said, according to AFP, that the European Commission had decided in 2001 to veto the GE/Honeywell merger by using a "crystal ball as in the Harry Potter books". General Electric challenges the Commission's decision before the Court of First Instance of the European Court of Justice. The Commission had felt that the merger would create or strengthen dominant positions on the aeronautics market. According to AFP, on Thursday in Luxembourg, Mr Green reproached the Commission for the "flagrant economic gaps" in its operating analysis.
