Dutch AHOLD has sold its stake in the Thai distribution company, CRC.AHOLD (turnover EUR 312 million in 2003 with 6000 employed), to its partner CENTRAL GROUP, for an undisclosed amount. It thus fully leaves the Asian market. Furthermore, AHOLD has sold its activities on the Brazilian market worth $500 million and has sold the supermarket chain BROMPRECO to WALMART for the sum of $300 million. It has also sold HIPERCARD, its credit card business (2 million clients) to Brazilian UNIBANCO.
