Commission to launch debate on 10 February on creation of European tax

Brussels, 02/02/2004 (Agence Europe) - In the press release on the forthcoming financial perspectives 2007-2013, which it is to adopt in Strasbourg on 10 February (EUROPE of 28 January 2004, p.8), the European Commission intends to launch the debate on two very important issues of the "revenue" plank of the budget, i.e. the creation of a European tax and the previously announced implementation of a "generalised correcting mechanism" limiting Member States' contributions.
