The manufacturer of the bitter tasting CAMPARI aperitif (turnover EUR 661 million in 2002) has taken over the drinks company BARBERO 1891 (Aperol", "Aperol Soda" brands " and the liqueur, "Barbieri"); expected turnover of EUR 55 million for the tax year ending February 2004), Italian subsidiary of the Irish group CANTRELL & COCHRANE (British group BC PARTNERS). The acquisition has cost around EUR 220 million.
