Planistat director indicted in Paris

Brussels, 17/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - A Parisian investigating judge has indicted for "complicity and harbouring stolen goods and embezzlement" the person in charge of the company Planistat, Hervé Charlot, from France, according to information revealed on Wednesday by the daily "Le Figaro". Planistat is the French company whose contracts with Eurostat were suspended this summer by the European Commission in the context of alleged financial misappropriation. This is the first indictment in this dossier opened in April by the Prosecutor of Paris after a report from the European Union's Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) was forwarded to it in March. The former Eurostat director, Yves Franchet, will not be summoned for now, the prosecutor's office in Paris states, quoted by the French daily.
