Commission prepares to initiate infringement proceedings against Germany for bilateral agreement on re-entry signed with China

Brussels, 15/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission is preparing to initiate infringement proceedings of a new kind against Germany, Community sources state. The Commission reproaches Germany for having signed re-entry clauses with China relating to the re-entry of illegal migrants when it is itself negotiating such an agreement with China for all EU Fifteen, on a mandate issued by the Council in November 2002.
