20/08/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Space Agency (ESA) is to launch the first European moon mission in a few weeks' time. The SMART-1 probe (small mission for advanced research in technology) was to be launched during the night of 28 to 29 August. Launching has been postponed and a new date will be announced in the near future, ESA states. SMART-1, which should take 16 months to reach the moon, will remain in orbit for observation for six to twelve months.
