01/08/2003 (Agence Europe) - Romano Prodi, on holiday in Tuscany, discussed with leaders of the centre left (notably Fassino, Veltroni, Rutelli), his idea launched recently that the Olive alliance should present a united list in the European elections in June 2004. This will involve problems of who heads the list (Mr Prodi says that he will not be on it and that his mandate as President of the Commission, was expiring in Autumn 2004) and the political group where these MEPs on this common list would be based or whether they would be dispersed after the elections (which is currently the case with the PES, EPP and ELDR groups).
