30/07/2003 (Agence Europe) - On the initiative of Anna Diamantopoulou, the Commission is expected to approve a proposal on 31 July amending Regulation 1408/71(EEC) on the application of social security systems to waged and unwaged workers moving within the EC, along with Council Regulation 574/72(EEC) stipulating how Regulation 1408/71(EEC) shall apply. The proposal takes account of changes in national legislation and clarifies the legal situation of the Regulation and recent developments in Court of Justice jurisprudence.
