Brussels, 17/07/2003 (Agence Europe) - Wanadoo has indicated in a press release that it is "looking very seriously into the possibility of starting a recourse or any other procedure related to the serious distortions of competition alleged, notably in the other European countries in which it carried out its activities". It "vigorously criticises the Commission's decision, which was based on debatable economic analysis", and announces that it will look carefully into this decision, especially in terms of the methodology used. Wanadoo stresses the fact that the level of competition in France for high-speed services compared to other European countries. It is worth noting that on Wednesday the European Commission fined Wanadoo 10.35 million EUR for abuse of its dominant position in the high-speed Internet sector (see EUROPE of 17 July, p.12).
