04/07/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Friday, the European Commission gave its go-ahead for financing from the Community budget in order to cover up to 50% of the costs incurred by Germany, Luxembourg and Spain, when compensating farmers forced to kill and destroy their animals and for operational expenditures associated with the destruction of contaminated animals and products due to outbreaks of classical swine fever in 2001 and 2002.
