06/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - In its adoption of the report by British Conservative Caroline Jackson, the European Parliament approved the prolongation until 1 July 2005 of transitional measures (removing specific risk materials, banning certain slaughter methods, etc.) brought in in 2001 to fight bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), and which were due to expire on 30 June 2003.
