02/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - Romania and Bulgaria continued their accession negotiations on Monday at the latest round of individual meetings at deputy level. On this occasion, Romania was able to close two further chapter (free circulation of goods, taxation); it has now concluded talks on 19 out of the 31 chapters of the Community acquis. Bulgaria finalised negotiations on transport, bringing to 24 the number of chapters provisionally closed. It is the aim of both countries to conclude negotiations in full in 2004 (by the end of the Prodi Commission's mandate at the latest), and to join the EU in 2007.
