Agreement between Italy and Finland to create two agencies in field of food and agriculture

Brussels, 14/03/2003 (Agence Europe) - The Prime Ministers of Finland and Italy, Paavo Lipponen and Silvio Berlusconi, agreed on Thursday to submit a proposal to the European Council to create two separate agencies in the field of foodstuffs and agriculture. The European Food Agency will be based in Helsinki, and a new agency, to be set up in Parma, which will cover the promotion origin of European agricultural products and protection of their origin.
