Brussels, 11/03/2003 (Agence Europe) - In the context of the Greek Presidency and the Consumer Day 2003, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and the Greek Economic and Social Council (OKE) are organising, on 14 and 15 March in Thessalonica a conference on the theme "consumers and enlargement", chaired by Andreas Kinitis, OKE President. The EESC President, Roger Briesch and the Greek Minister for Development Akis Tsohatzopoulos will open the works that will be divided into: 1) an open discussion forum, with the notable participation of the EESC Vice-President Leif Nielsen and the President of the Polish consumer federation Malgorzata Neipokulczyka; 2) two round tables on: - sustainable consumption models in a new Europe; - consumer policy and information society. The closing session, on "Prospects in terms of consumer policy" will be chaired by Mr Briesch.
